The CAMPBIENT community has lost a dear friend and Volume 1 alumni.
Marcell Marias made art in electronic music, light, and sculpture, and was a lover of nature and humanity.
He effortlessly embodied the foundational values of the residency: community building, growing social intelligence, and manifesting ethical compassion. He was a kind and generous light to all he encountered and will be deeply missed.
In his honor we are naming our scholarship program after him, as The Marcell Marias Memorial Fund Scholarship. Marcell was deeply committed to equity and inclusion, as is the residency. The program will enable those to attend the residency who would otherwise face financial barriers.
