The Marcell Marias Memorial Fund reduces barriers to attending Campbient by helping to defray the expense of attendance in the form of financial assistance with the attendance fee.
The fund was established in memory of Marcell Marias, artist, musician, and Volume 1 alumni. Whether making art in light and sculpture or composing and performing electronic music, Marcell and was a lover of nature and humanity, and deeply committed to equity and inclusion. Marcell effortlessly embodied the foundational values of the residency: community building, growing social intelligence, and manifesting ethical compassion.

Getting financial assistance is easy. Just send us an email through our contact form. Let us know if you need help with the entire expense or just part of it. You can email us before or after you submit your application.
If accepted for the residency, we will contact you about availing yourself of the scholarship fund.
Assistance details
- Awards are based on self-reported need, no income verification necessary.
- Award is in the form of waiving whole or part of the attendance fee. No cash value or cash disbursement.
- Award is for attendance fee only. No reimbursement for travel or any additional expenses.
- Campbient-managed gear rental is included if needed.

Campbient is a not-for-profit residency with 501c(3) status, run by volunteers from a combination of private and public funding. Your contribution will continue to allow participants who would otherwise face financial barriers to attend Campbient.
