S’more CAMPBIENT is a sound art residency open to CAMPBIENT alumni that runs at the same time and place as CAMPBIENT. It arose out of the great amount of feedback we receive about wanting to return, however, CAMPBIENT can only be experienced once.

S’more CAMPBIENT allows resident alumni to build on their previous experience and experiment in new ways that may not have been possible previously. S’more CAMPBIENT is a much less structured and independent experience, while still retaining the community building, sonic experimentation, and natural setting that makes CAMPBIENT unique.

If you have been to other artist’s residencies, S’more CAMPBIENT might feel familiar. If CAMPBIENT is the only arts residency you’ve done, S’more CAMPBIENT will allow you to follow your own investigations and processes without the constraints of the original CAMPBIENT experience.

Essential info

• S’more CAMPBIENT is open to prior CAMPBIENT residents only (alumni).
• S’more CAMPBIENT is a more freeform experience without the constraints of the original CAMPBIENT.
• S’more residents will be organized into collaborative teams to create a sound art piece over the course of the residency.
• There are no restrictions on the audio gear you bring for making or recording sounds. (Remember, amplified sound is not allowed in State Parks!) Communal audio gear for CAMPBIENT residents will not be available to S’more residents.
• S’more residents will act as their own engineers and technical support, CAMPBIENT Producers and Engineers will not be available to S’more residents.
• The finished piece (or an excerpt) will need to be ready to be presented at the end of the residency. The finished work will be credited to the individual artists or artist teams and digitally released on RealMoreReal.
• S’more residents are welcome and encouraged to join in the rest of the CAMPBIENT community for meals and evening activities, but it’s not required.
• S’more residents will have shared accommodations in the yurts at Kanaskat-Palmer State Park (no need for a tent, just bedding or a sleeping bag!)
• S’more residents will have dedicated interaction time with the Special Guest Artist and the CAMPBIENT team.
• S’more CAMPBIENT runs 4 days, June 3-7, 2026.
• All other rules, policies, expectations of conduct, etc. of CAMPBIENT apply to S’more CAMPBIENT.
• There is only space for 6 S’more residents. 
• S’more CAMPBIENT costs $500 to attend, meals and accommodations are provided. If camping fees are a barrier to participation, financial assistance is available to ensure equitable opportunity.
